It is the job of the chauffeur to be prepared for any eventuality or emergency which may arise during their driving day. Therefore, there are a number of first aid and safety kits available for chauffeurs to buy and stock their limousines with in case of an emergency.

However, every limousine run, chauffeur and company is different. They transport different passengers in different types of vehicles and they all have different needs. Therefore, many chauffeurs forego the pre-packaged safety kits and assemble kits of their own to cater to and assist their own skills and their passengers’ needs.

For example, safety kits may include mechanical equipment which is useful in case of a break down, such as battery jumper, powered tyre inflator, dustbuster, fire extinguisher, as well as actual car parts such as headlight globes or fuses to keep everything in perfect working order.

These kits also of course include first aid kits to aid both passenger and chauffeur if need be, and there are also a number of other items which may be specific to the passengers or event. For example, the chauffeur may carry a needle and thread or safety pins if they are transporting a bridal party, to help avert any wardrobe malfunctions which may occur on the way to the wedding or reception.

The chauffeurs are also fully equipped to clean and maintain their vehicles while they are waiting for their passengers or in between jobs as it is not always possible to return to the garage for a quick clean up.

However, it depends on the limo hire company whether these types of kits and preparations are provided complete with each limousine, or whether it is the responsibility of the chauffeur to maintain their kits.
